Call for BPPA Executive Committee Candidates

The BPPA (British Postgraduate Philosophy Association) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for its next Executive Committee. In accordance with the BPPA Constitution, the Executive Committee shall comprise at least the following positions: (i) President, (ii) Vice President, and (iii) Secretary/Communications Officer.
To run for a position on the Executive Committee, you must:
(i) be a current BPPA member, and
(ii) be actively enrolled in a postgraduate course related to Philosophy in the United Kingdom on the day of the Annual Election.
This call for nominations will run for 14 days (until 7 May). The election will take place from 18 May to 18 June.
By entering (self-nominating) your information into this form, you indicate your desire to be included in the pool of candidates for the role(s) you have selected. Once the nomination period ends (7 May), candidates will be posted on the BPPA website, and voting will open on 18 May. The Executive Committee will review all submissions prior to publishing the candidate list in order to verify eligibility.
All core Executive Committee roles will be open; this will be a full election with no retention of existing Executive Committee members.

Open Positions
President
The President is responsible for the day-to-day running and operations of the Association. They will secure hosts for the annual conference and annual masterclass, and assist these hosts—where possible—in obtaining sufficient external funding for these events.
Vice President
The Vice President supports the President in the day-to-day running and operations of the Association. They may also take on additional duties associated with other Executive Committee roles, as determined unanimously by the current Executive Committee based on that year’s priorities.
Secretary/Communications Officer
The Secretary/Communications Officer oversees the BPPA’s website and social media presence. They will also coordinate with the hosts of the annual conference and masterclasses to ensure effective promotion of these events.
