Call for Papers - Annual BPPA Conference 2026
Call for Abstracts – BPPA 2026 Annual Conference
The British Postgraduate Philosophy Association (BPPA) invites submissions for presentation at our 2026 Annual Conference, to be held 18–20 October 2025 at Queen’s University Belfast.
We welcome abstracts on any area of philosophy from postgraduate students enrolled at UK-based institutions. Individuals who have previously completed a postgraduate degree in philosophy and are between programmes are also encouraged to submit, regardless of current enrolment status. We especially welcome submissions from members of groups underrepresented in academia. Furthermore, due to the success of our online summer conference in bringing together postgraduate philosophers across the world, the final day of the conference (20th of November) is online.
This years theme is Philosophy in Action: Bridging Theory and Practice. Through this, we hope to explore how philosophical thinking can shape real-world challenges such as ethics in AI, justice in climate policy, aesthetics in design, or existential questions in modern life.
Submission deadline: 26th of October 2026
Fee: Membership required
Location: Queen’s University Belfast (18th and 19th of November) and Online (20th of November)
The conference will feature:
BPPA Workshop – practical career advice and professional development for postgraduate philosophers at all stages.
