Scotland and the North of England

This is the website for the 2023 edition of the BPPA Regional Conference for Scotland and the North of England. Details of the 2024 edition will follow in due course.

The theme for the 2023 BPPA Regional Conference for Scotland and the North of England was Women in the History of Modern and Contemporary Philosophy, broadly understood. The event took place on 25th March 2023, at the University of Liverpool. The BPPA would like to express its gratitude to both the British Society for the History of Philosophy and the University of Liverpool for their support.

In this occasion, we wanted to get closer to the work done by women in Philosophy in the modern and contemporary periods. The conference included talks by three graduate students a keynote address by Dr Colin Chamberlain. The whole programme of the workshop can be found here: Programme .
